Spooooooooooky ….. event #5

Where were you when the volunteers went all crazy on our first themed run/walk at Imbuko ? A overcast morning kept a few of the runners in bed, or could it be the late night after watching our Boks play it out for third place ?  Thank you one and all out there and a special thanks to the Volunteers for your efforts....   Well done to Lynda Palmer on a great run and showing her awesome support to Wellington parkrun...

Wellington parkrun Event number 5 31st October 2015

Male placings: Zamikhaya NYILA (SM25-29) (Unattached) was first over the line in 23:18 - first appearance. Jan-Marten DALING (SM30-34) (Unattached) was second over the line in 24:21. Thomas JACOBS (VM40-44) (Unattached) was third over the line in 24:40.

Female placings:

Lynda PALMER (VW60-64) (Unattached) was first (11th overall) over the line in 28:37 - first time in 4 appearances. Larissa GREGOROWSKI (SW18-19) (Unattached) was second (12th overall) over the line in 28:44. Marlene SWART (VW55-59) of Paarl AC, was third (15th overall) over the line in 31:53.

The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores:

Lynda PALMER (VW60-64) was graded 70.82% for the time 28:37 (11th overall). Janice SENEKAL (VW65-69) was graded 63.40% for the time 33:28 (21st overall). Ryk VAN VELDEN (VM60-64) was graded 59.46% for the time 27:13 (8th overall).

This week there were 70 runners, of whom 24 were first timers and 19 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 3 different athletics clubs took part.

Wellington parkrun started on 3rd October 2015, and since then 313 different runners, including participants from 13 athletics clubs, have completed 556 runs covering a total distance of 2,780 km, and there have been 85 new Personal Bests.

The female record is held by Mari BOTHA who ran in a time of 00:25:34 on 2015-10-10 (event number 2). The male record is held by Unknown ATHLETE who ran in a time of 00:18:42 on 2015-10-03 (event number 1). The Age Grade course record is held by Lynda PALMER who recorded a 71.03% run (28:32) on 10th October 2015 (event number 2).
