Course Description

Naval Hill is one of the most prominent and popular tourist attractions in Bloemfontein. It is situated centrally in the city and boasts the Franklin Nature Reserve, where various buck species, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, to name but a few wild animals, are often spotted. The parkrun route travels through this area and runners can enjoy the typical Free State environment. A spectacular view of Bloemfontein and surrounds can be seen at various lookouts around the route.

The start/finish is at the spectacular and newly erected statue of Nelson Mandela at the top of Naval Hill. From the start a slightly downhill route is followed on the tarmac. After approx. 600 m keep left at the split in the road. After approx. 200 m turn right across the first of two cattle grids on the course and follow the path around the perimeter of Naval Hill in a clockwise direction. After approx. 3600 m turn left towards the start/finish for the last 600 m of the course.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event.
