Saturday 9th March saw the Jock Trail parkrunners greeted with sunshine and the smell of freshly cut grass with the first 700m of the route having been given a trim on the Friday. It was great to see an increase in participants from 26 the previous Saturday to 46 on this day. We had 22 first timers with 12 personal bests being recorded.
It was a pleasure to have a few visitors from Gauteng that were on holiday at Kruger Park and decided to come check out our route. They were amazed at the full view of the Graskop gorge that met them halfway through the course. It was also great to be visited by Charmaine Adendorff from White River that ran her 179th parkrun at our venue and completed it by setting a new age group record for her category. Go Charmaine!
Another noteworthy participant and 1st timer was Deane de Swardt who ran her 1st parkrun 6 months into her pregnancy with her very proud partner Reinart.
All in all a great morning had by all with the ever faithful volunteers notching up another successful incident free event.
