A Fish Hoek parkrun for one

Fish Hoek parkrunners may be locked down but they're keeping their spirits up. One in particular, a key member of our course set-up team whose name we will not mention, created a personal parkrun in his own yard and we bring a snippet of his run to you here. You took full advantage of your storage our course markers, Neville! Darn it, I think we gave you away just there.

We hope all FH parkrunners and parkrunners around the world are staying safe – and staying home. #loveparkrun #StayHome

Fish Hoek parkrun #324 – 29 February 2020

For the first time ever, a parkrun was held on a 29th of February. It was also the 5th parkrun in Februaruy 2020, a lucky day for some of us.  We had fun at Fish Hoek parkrun, where 298 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 18 were first timers and 38 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 17 different clubs took part.

Our international visitors this week included a run director from Alness/Scotland, parkrunners from Germany (Stuttgart), a family from the USA (New York) and a volunteer from the Netherlands, who helped set up parkrun in the Netherlands, which coincidentally had its inaugural parkrun today. Welcome also to our visitors from other parkruns with South Africa. We hope that you enjoyed your short visit here and hope to see you again sometime.

Caroline Gill reached her 50 milestone today.  Congratulations to you! One of our junior parkrunners completed her 10th parkrun.  Well done to you!
