Arrive early to avoid traffic delays into Meerendal Wine Estate

Please take note that the Durbanville parkrun starts behind the white marquee at 08:00, with the pre run briefing at 07:50.

On parkrunday, traffic on Vissershok Road into the Meerendal Wine Estate backs up to past the circle by Clara Anna Fontein / D'urbanvale. If you have not passed this circle by 07:30, you will be late for the parkrun start at 08:00. The gate up to the parkrun start closes at 08:05. The tail walker / sweeper leaves this gate at 08:05, and collects the course markers as they walk, so the course is no longer marked, and latecomers put themselves at risk of getting lost on the trails.

Meerendal is a private estate and Meerendal kindly allow parkrunners free access to their running trails on parkrunday. If you arrive at the gate after 08:05, i.e. you are late, you are no longer considered a parkrunner and will have to pay the trail runners entrance fees of R30 per adult and R10 per junior.

We ask you to please refrain from negotiating with the Meerendal security guards for late entry to parkrun, They are only doing their jobs and following our instructions.  Please wait for the Run Director at the Finish line should you have a grievance or send an email to us at durbanville@parkrun.com.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail, so plan to arrive early, by 07:15. Even better, if you arrive earlier, come grab a Hi-Vis jacket by the volunteers on the finish field, have a stint as a car park marshal, guiding cars into the parking area, and get a volunteer credit for doing so, and you still get to run!
